Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705

Scratch builds of OCPN 4.1.705 on current OSX 10.10.4 via command line ("make install") and Xcode 6.4 (6E35b) (target OpenCPN) pass smoke test.

Are we interested in fixing any of the compiler warnings?

I don't understand. Xcode is not a command line tool.

I fixed about 80% of them with a recent pull request.

Thanks Pavel and Sean
I will try on my linux machine but through your answers I am afraid I'll need more time than currently available

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705

Hello everyone. As many people I am using OpenCpn a Pipo tabletts, one 10" and one 6.5"
I am very happy with this development for Android. My little problem is that my boat is aluminim and the antenna on the 10" Pipo tablett is not too good, so I cannot use it inside. I have bought an bluetooth antenna and then all the apk using gps work wery well with it .... except OpenCpn. Choosing the connection, OpenCpn gives the option "internal bluetooth gps" and it can see the antenna but it still not works. One both tablett the result is the same.
Maybe someone has resolved that problem, and I would really apreciate if I cou have some informations to set up it properly or perhaps fix the bug. Thank in advance

Hah! Posted under wrong topic. Shouldn't do these things while sober. Sorry for confusion.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705

Hi there...

Several testers have reported problems with vector chart objects disappearing in certain screen regions e.g.
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...147108-21.html

We had this trouble earlier on chart outlines fading away in certain screen sections. This was fixed in 705, I understand....

But there is still some problem.

I am trying to track this down and fix it for good. Here is what I know:

1. Seems to affect only some devices, particular to the OpenGL drivers onboard, I think. Unfortunately, it affects none of my devices, nor does it show up on any emulators.

2. I think it becomes a factor when certain types of symbols are rendered. Buoys, and other raster cached images are OK. But I think pen-drawn objects like lighthouses are affected when they are in certain areas of the screen. Sometimes drawn area boundaries, as well. And light sector extensions.

So, a little help, please.

Those who are seeing this, I need some screen shots with the above in mind. A/B comparisons of dense vector charts (cm93 OK). Find a spot that has a some drawn objects and some raster objects. Pan around, looking for features that disappear in certain screen regions as you pan
When you pan slowly, do they wink out, or do they fade out? Any example pix would be useful.

Please include your logfile OpenGL entry section, if possible. I think we can narrow this down to certain GL drivers...

This may be a wild goose chase, but there is something fishy here...

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705

Dave,

Here are a series of screenshots, cropped to show the essentials.

Firstly a shot where all objects display fine.

Then gradually moving them towards the top of the screen. You will see the arc and sector lines gradually disappearing. When the light reaches a certain region, all light objects disappear suddenly.

Moving objects down behaves slightly differently. The objects just fade out while panning.

The last one is from the same tablet, but in Debian noroot. This may or may not be of any relevance.

I'll try to locate the log file that you requested.

Antti

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.705

citlab...

Thanks. Great pix, very helpful.

1. Can you give me a lat/lon reference for the pix? So I can duplicate, maybe....

2. It appears that buoys/lights do NOT disappear, but that features drawn with thin lines (light sectors, boundaries, etc) DO disappear. Is this how you read it?

It seems you have one or more bad png files.

I use cm93 charts on my laptop, but where do you get them for android devices? Or how do you transfer them a SD card?
