I just tried the beta 3.3.0616 - no problem.
For the stable 3.2.2, there is/was a problem with the auto-selected mirror on Source Forge.
Click the link named "direct link" or pick an another mirror.
This is most likely just a temporary problem.

I wonder if the touch panel driver that you have produces a different combination of simulated up/down clicks than the panel I am using.

Asus X102BA Windows 8.1 and touchscreen.
In touchscreen mode, I can create a route with the mouse, but not with my finger. Whereas route creation is selected, nothing happens when I "touch the screen" to create the first point.

On the Dell XPS18/W8.1 it works "like advertised" in touch mode. No mouse required.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1606 Released

Bizarre NMEA behaviour: I was watching more carefully today and the behaviour persisted, this time I observed it on the West co-ordinate. It got to 60.22x minutes before finally flipping over to a normal display and that likely took close to 5 minutes. We're moving steadily north and west now so I'll get plenty of chance to observe it.

Can you run the VDR to get the MNEA data stream?

If that was directed at me you'll have to use smaller words.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1606 Released

Sorry Bob!

There is a VDR plug-in for OpenCPN. It does record the complete NMEA stream that is passing through OCPN.
(VDR= Voyage Data Recording - on SOLAS vessels this a required black box)
It would be helpful to determine what is happening with your system with this information.

OK. I will download that plugin and start running it. I assume it will generate a log file that I can post here.

One more little thing regarding the "dialout" solution.
New connections now defaults to Network connections, but the full dialog is not shown to start with. It looks like this:

Change to Serial and then back to Network and it looks looks this

In the first case the user can't select tcp or udp for example. A bit confusing ...unless you know.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1606 Released

I had a crash earlier today when I downloaded Watchdog, enabled it and clicked on preferences. I sent the dump along. Later today, I disabled all other PI's and have the same result. Didn't think it necessary to send second dump.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1606 Released

In switching Opengl off and on and switching Touch off and on I lose the grab bar for the buttons. The grab bar is lost with Touch on. Turning touch off will restore the grab bar.

I believe that if you start OpenCPN with Opengl on and Touch off, and then turn Touch on: 1. The button bar goes from 1 row to 2 rows; 2. the area at the end of the button bar is shortened and the grab bar missing.

The problem could be screen size dependent. I have a 10" 768x1024 pixel screen.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1606 Released

Dave
I upgraded to Kubuntu 14.04 and have tested running and building O, using todays Git.
There were no problem compiling or running with wxgtk 2.8.

Compiling with wxgtk3.0 worked as well, but a few plugins in my tree had problems: gradar, logbook konnie and FindIt.
With both wx 2.8 and 3.0 installed O found and used 3.0.

But .... there is a run time problem. Trying to start O I was greeted by this dialog, that I've never seen before:

From the command line I had this
Quote:
*** Caught unhandled unknown exception; terminating
../src/common/wincmn.cpp(478): assert "GetEventHandler() == this" failed in ~wxWindowBase(): any pushed event handlers must have been removed
Trace/breakpoint trap
