Hello,

under Max OsX :
- open the route manager
- select delete a route

the confirmation window is always hidden behind the main window.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1006 Released

The version 3.3.1006 seems a bit slow updating the screen with S-57 charts.
Any Idea? I am not using open GL.
Bye

P_Dub...

3.3.1006 has very little changes in S57, non-OpenGL renderer.

Anyone else experiencing slower performance on S57 charts in 3.3.1006?

Yes with Dutch S 57 but this perhaps normal knowing the difficulties that OCPN to display these charts.

WinXP no OpenGL: There is often a performance issue but not a noticeable difference using .1006 compared to erlier versions.
If I try to use OpenGL it works a short time but after a while an increasingly function break down is growing to a hold on everything. It can take a minute to open the tools menu and switch OpenGL of again. But .1006 is not better nor worse then other version.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1006 Released

Hello Dave ,

This summer , I used then O322 O33814 in navigation. 400 Nmi each. While sailing I used the CM93 , even if it is outdated , and I used cards NV- Verlag with the plugin. As I sailed along the coast of Holland , I tried to use the Dutch S57 charts.

When sailing, I did arrange for OCPN is not overworked . I only activated the dashboard and VDR .

At sea, I felt that O33814 remained smooth on my ASUS EeePC 1015HA under W7 . But the flow seems less than the previous year OCPN used versions . Is that wrong? Is the reality? Hard to say.

On land, when I try to open the manager of roads, tracks, waypoints and layers must be very patient before the window manager that opens. Similarly, to open the toolbox , you have to be patient. Really, it started to annoy me .

Too much to OpenCPN we certainly demand. This is , in my opinion, a topic that deserves reflection. To quote a French saying " A load too the boat at the end it flows ."

Gilletarom....

Slow performance on land with Route Manager:

Can you describe your layer setup, and your navobj.xml contents?

Perhaps post them all here, for analysis.

Thanks
Dave

Here join what you want. But all is too big (more than 1.2 Mo) so I break it. So 6 zip files are joined here.

Added : No layer in the layer manager during this summer.

Nope, different problem. The OpenGL problem does not relate to memory leakage.

More info, please?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1006 Released

Gilletarom....

OK, the problem with your performance relates to the quite large number of UserIcons. There are (ahem..) 950 separate and distinct UserIcons.

We do a lot of lookups into the UserIcon tables. As implemented, we have assumed a much smaller number of UserIcons would be present. We can certainly improve the code efficiency here. I suppose if this large UserIcon count is common, we should apply some focus to this issue.

Gilletarom....

For your convenience, there are freshly updated .pot (Language) files available in github now. These should include all of the missing strings noted earlier.

bcn....

It looks like a memory leakage problem within your specific OpenGL driver.
This problem is not seen in any other Windows/OpenGL user cases, AFAIK.

Maybe there is a an OpenGL driver update available for your machine?

Driver is the latest one.
Can live without OpenGL in this case.

Thanks
