OpenCPN Android forum down?

Have not been able to get to the Android forum for several days.

Am I the only one?

Re: OpenCPN Android forum down?

Rakoa,
The developers would be better able to answer, but Opencpn non-android has AIS baked in, it is not a plugin, it just needs a nmea0183 AIS data stream.

My current Android version shows a very simplified and limited set of connections for GPS and receiving data which is accessed from the Android menu button.
However from the Menubar Option > Connections is available and from that you can set up to receive an AIS data stream. I believe thee Android version supports AIS, but does it? I have not actually done this.

The plugin supports plugins and has Grib, WMM, Dashboard and Squiddio.
The radar pi for Android may a long wait.
Note these questions should be addressed in the Android forum!

Just tested with old SamsungGT-S7710 and AIS works fine when connected over WIFI to the local network where I has AIS stream over port 10110 from a raspberry with connected AIS

Re: OpenCPN Android forum down?

Has anyone had problems getting the Android (Free version) OpenCPN to accept NMEA data via a WIFI port using TCP/IP ? I have a TCPIP server sending GPS and AIS data over wifi connection ....
The NMEA debug windows remains blank, even though the IP address and Port is identical to the settings on my windows version .
Are there any special app settings required.

I has tried the "first" version and nmea over wifi works fine - GPS/AIS works.

Re: OpenCPN Android forum down?

The OpenCPN Android forum is
OpenCPN Android Forum for the Purchased App
and it is working.

It is easily accessible from OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage "Forums" TAB.

Questions should be posted to that forum please. Dialogue on that forum will provide help to all Android users. Thank you.

Re: OpenCPN Android forum down?

The reason I am still using the free version of OpenCPN for Android is that the paid version will not load onto a Pixel C running Android 8.0. It would help if I could understand why the paid version is incompatible with officially the latest OS. Is there a discussion on that topic hiding somewhere?

BTW it is snowing outside. Good weather for software shopping !!

Thanks very much. At least I can learn while software is sorted out. Cheers!

Re: OpenCPN Android forum down?

Is it just me having problems or is it a bigger issue? Resorting to posting here in the hope that someone (Dave?) might see it. App not displaying cm93 charts. Registered on forum yesterday and added a reply to someone else's post with the same problem. Now can't log on. Tells me my username or password is incorrect (which it isnt) then tells me my email address is invalid when I attempt to 'recover' my password. Then tells me I have exceeded login attempts and have to wait 720 hours before trying again. Cant make a new account because the confirmation email doesn't come through. I can't even contact the administrator because I have to sign in before I can do so!
