The longest it ever ran was about 10 minutes. The program would hang with a spinning circle for a minute or so before windows displayed a dialog that the program quit responding and offered to terminate it.

I believe Douwe has been using his plugin reliably for quite some time, perhaps not with the most current development.

It wasn't related to the plugin, as this build would hang even without the plugin installed. Tested at home on my desktop, it did not hang, but also did not have any connections setup. It might be related to N2K or N2K over Ethernet. IDK.

Unfortunately with my recent job loss, I don't know when I will be able to play with this again. My life is upside down right now.

Drifting a bit off topic, but today I accepted a job offer that pays substantially more than my previous, and offers better working hours.

Re: N2K -> ethernet gateway TX capability added

I had some time on the boat to play with this this weekend, and capture some logs when OpenCPN hangs.

Windows 11 23H2. HP laptop, all drivers up to date. This laptop has worked for years with previous OCPN versions with never crashing, even running it for weeks at a time.

Fresh install of OpenCPN 5.9.0-0+4af201935. Built from source on 3-22. (is there a daily build somewhere to d/l or do I have to build it myself?) Clean install, OpenCPN uninstalled, all plugins removed, and opencpn folders removed from Program Files, Program Data, and Appdata.

On install, OCPN runs fine, Installed Charts, runs fine, added connection, runs fine, activated a route, runs fine. Install AutoTrackRaymarine 1.18.34, activate route, and OCPN hangs in about 5 minutes.

There are no crash logs as OCPN hangs but doesn't crash. opencpn.log from 2 runs is attached. I note that in one log the last line is
MESSAGE ocpn_frame.cpp:5579 LOGBOOK:
This line is very near the last line in the second run as well. It doesn't appear anywhere else in the log, and I don't have the logbook plugin installed. I don't think it was ever installed, but if it was it was a very long time ago.

As per normal, file extension needs to be changed to .log on the attachments.

Warren...

Every commit to the repository is automatically built and the created packages are available from https://cloudsmith.io/~david-registe...able/packages/

Awesome thank you!

Quick question about build numbers. I notice the build in cloudsmith has an extra four digits from my build (+8383.4af201935) I understand 4af201935 is the commit id. What is the 8383, and why would my build not include that?

Re: N2K -> ethernet gateway TX capability added

It is the ID of the continuous integration job that produced the build, for example for the one you mention it was https://app.circleci.com/pipelines/g...0232/jobs/8383
