Grib File Size Limit

Is there a way to get a grib file larger than 10mb when requesting through OpenCPN to Saildocs?


This is the error I get :
Error: Email size limit exceeded The reply email message was 39.7MB, which exceeds the general incoming mailserver limit of 10.0MB. Attachments have been deleted so that this can be delivered. Please revise your request to reduce the requested file size. Note that this is a limitation of your email server, not Saildocs. Also remember that file attachments are inflated about 37% when sent via internet email. So an attached file must be smaller than 7.3MB for this 10.0MB limit."

My email server has no such limit.

I would suggest you do what that e-mail tells you on the line immediately following what you copy pasted here and contacted Saildocs support if you really want them to send you a grib file bigger than 10MB.

There is nothing OpenCPN or we can do for you.

I think this is an issue with your email provider, not Saildocks.
Try a different email provider that allows bigger attachments.

It is not, that message is sent by the Saildocs outgoing mailserver, regardless of the target.
The wording of the e-mail they use is somewhat unfortunate and actually not right, but so is trying to use Saildocs to get a 40MB grib file...

You have the ability to change the code so the user gets that warning before submitting the request, don't you? You could also remove the non functioning zygrib option.

That would be more user friendly I would think. I'll submit that to GitHub.

Yes I do, so do you or anybody else who actually unlike me does use Saildocs.
