If you post the last session of your opencpn.log file that might give a clue as to the cause of the problem. Find opencpn.log using the ? toolbar button.

Re: Help / FAQ

Silly question: are you using chart groups? What happens if you select "All charts", the "0" key?

Re: Help / FAQ

Those don't exist anymore, I fear.

To toggle Tide and Currents you have two places - the display menu might be the preferred one (down right).

Well, now I have run into another problem related, I think, to OpenGl.

I've been making charts using IMGKAP, and have made many of them, and they work well.

Yesterday I ran into a problem where a couple of new charts would not display properly. When I clicked on the blue bar the "Chart Quilting" option gets turned off and then new chart displays but the background becomes the world chart default.

If I turn on OpenGL that problem disappears however then I have the issue I mentioned previously where waypoints become invisible at times when OpenGL is used.

Here is a excerpt from the log showing what is happening:

12:06:43 PM: Loaded CM93 Dictionary from G:\CM93\CM93-2012FR +wd +scts +Orion + Carinthia\
12:06:43 PM: OpenChartUsingCache, NOT in cache: cache size: 1
12:06:43 PM: OpenChartUsingCache: type 3 G:\CHARTS\Mexico\Mexico Raster Scan Charts IMGKAP\cleofas.kap
12:06:43 PM: Creating new chart
12:06:43 PM: Initializing Chart G:\CHARTS\Mexico\Mexico Raster Scan Charts IMGKAP\cleofas.kap
12:06:43 PM: Metrics: m_display_size_mm: 344 wxDisplaySize: 1920:1080
12:06:44 PM: Loading World Chart Q=0 in 0 ms.
12:06:44 PM: Background world map loaded from GSHHS datafiles found in: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenCPN\gshhs\

Hope this rings a bell for you,

Fred Roswold

Re: Help / FAQ

The chart outlines are visible? O ("Oh") triggers outlines...

You might have disabled quilting - being in single chart mode. The Q key triggers quilting.
(the chart piano rectangles have rounded corners with quilting On and sharp ones with quilting Off)

In the tests I did chart quilting was enabled. I opened the box on the right side of the screen and confirmed that.
*
OpenGL disabled:
*
The chart piano bars had sharp corners.
*
The chart outline was there on the screen, in the proper place.
*
When I clicked on the blue bar the chart appeared, the backgound reverted to the world chart, and quilting was disabled. (on O 4.2, the background became solid black).
*
OpenGL enabled:
*
The chart piano bars had sharp corners.
*
The chart outline was there on the screen, in the proper place.
*
When I clicked on the blue bar the chart appeared, The backgound remained the normal chart and quilting remained enabled (but I am stuck with the problem of waypoint visibility previously encountered with OpenGL.)
*
This behavior is not entirely consistent or repeatable. At the moment I cannot get it to fail.
