Men return to Mountains and to the Sea because....

Help me find this quote. I believe I read it on this forum, and I planned on keeping the quote in memory. Unfortunatly, my memory is not the steel trap it once was.

Anyone know?

Thanks...Johnny

Here you go:

"Men go back to the mountains, as they go back to sailing ships at sea, because in the mountains and on the sea they must face up, as did men of another age, to the challenge of nature. Modern man lives in a highly synthetic kind of existence. He specializes in this and that. Rarely does he test all his powers or find himself whole. But in the hills and on the water the character of a man comes out." --Abram T. Collier

Heh... My first thought was of Stevenson's Requiem:

Under the wide and starry sky
Dig the grave and let me lie:
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.

This be the verse you 'grave for me:
Here he lies where he long'd to be;
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.
