Jammer finally gets a sailboat

After some decades of a life filled with paddlecraft and power boats, I have finally purchased a sailboat. "Bridget," a Morgan 250 laid down in 1975, is a modest but well-found pocket cruiser that I anticipate sailing on Lake Pepin (part of the upper Mississippi), Lake Superior, and other area waters starting this spring.

I look forward to the journey.

Enjoy your new toy, i started on a 24ft boat and still look back as some of the great times I've ever had sailing. Your boat will teach you a lot. Good choice by the way. R

Re: Jammer finally gets a sailboat

Congrats. I started sailing with an O’Day 22 on Lake Superior. I miss sailing a smaller boat where you can grab a line and simply haul away without the need (mostly) for winches.

If she’s on a trailer, and you’re looking for some Superior sailing, I highly recommend dropping her in at Rossport on the Superior north shore. Awesome archipelago of islands with lots of anchorages, all within a fairly protected area.

Congratulations on your new boat. I'm a bit jealous. Most of my sailing is on salt water and while I do love it, there is something quite nice about fresh water! Congratulations again.

Re: Jammer finally gets a sailboat

Congratulations. We sailed Lake Pepin out of Lake City from 2012 to 2017. We highly recommend the Lake City municipal marina if you have any need. Great people and nice clean facility. Have fun.
