Need Comments on New Sailboat

I have been talking and looking at new sailboats till blue in the face.
What a great market for new boats....I have been offered a free trip to South Carolina to look at a
50' Beneteau....Also Catalina has offered the same to look at their
47'--2 Cabin Cruiser.
I had a half day cruise on a Jeanneau
The prices indicate that these are middle of the road boats.
I also looked at a couple of high end boats...a late model 42' Valiant and a Pacifica.
Gosh people are very proud of these two boats.
I am retired and plans are to live on board 80% of the time and cruise the rest.
Can any one comment on these boats for me or maybe tell me your choice of
sailboats.

Anyone offering a free trip is betting that they are a better salesman than you are at objectively making a rational decision about parting with your cash. I like to pay my way.
