dyneema chain
I found this sort of interesting. . . . . https://www.dsm.com/dyneema/en_GB/ap...ic-chains.html
Links made from multiple wraps of dyneema webbing sewn shut. The primary commercial purpose seems to be to give you lots of lashing/connection points.

Re: dyneema chain
That is interesting, BW. Thanks for sharing.
I am in the process of doing something similar, but with longer 'links'. The goal is a Dyneema anchor rode (for anchor testing only) that will need to have a connection every 16 feet or so. Was planning on using single line with eye splices. However, if this chain Dyneema product is economical, that might be a nice option.

Re: dyneema chain
Interestingly, it's constructed as a multi-layered Moebius strip which means that one end is conpletely buried in the middle of all of the loops and only the other end is exposed (on either the inside or the ouside of the link depending on how the loop is rotated). In effect, you've got a tremendous amount of "bury"

Re: dyneema chain
I sewed a (short) section of one of these. It tested pretty well (you can basically make them arbitrarily strong - up to sewing machine thickness constraint) and would be a real consideration in an application where you needed a lot of lashing/attachment points. However, it is a decent about of work, similar to building a series drogue.
