Wanted to comment on my recent trip to Hamble Le Rice in the South of
England where I just completed my RYA Dayskipper course, but had to return home because of the situation with the virus.
This course was outstanding in every aspect, as the course was both intense and fast paced. We were constantly on the go whether it was
learning shore based activities such as
VHF radio, survival
training,
boat and
engine maintenance or out on the Solent practicing everything from
MOB drills, navigational exercises all the way to pilotage planning where we made two trips across the
English Channel to
France on less than perfect conditions.
In all couldn't be more pleased as the instructors were very helpful and vastly experienced plus the surrounding community of Hamble was filled with a village completely made up from sailing backgrounds. Now hopefully I can put what I have learned to good use as I would like to find a
boat to crew on!
