Oh how I despise the talking heads laughing after a story like this. They even make fun of the plight of these survivors.

There is no way these men survived 8 days without fresh water. There had to be a source of water in that time.

I have to agree that those newscasters are total idiots.
But then, doesn't that kind of go without saying?

Don't expect either accurate or detailed reports from the media, esp. TV -- they don't have time, and if they do, most of the time they don't understand what they're talking about.

All you know is the men were in the water for 8 days. Maybe it rained and they opened their mouths.

It looks about 14 feet, no engine, appears to be newer construction... i was guessing foam core.

Looks like one of the fiberglass or fiberglass-over-wood pangas that the typical Mexican fishing fleet is built out of. I think it would sink like a stone.

Most of those guys don't have a VHF, PFD's, or even a flashlight.

I wonder if it had an engine and it just fell off after a few day in the inverted position??

How could you still be in position halfway between FL and the Bahamas after 7 days? would more likely be off Jacksonville after a week in the stream.
