For Sale: Crowther Spindrift 38 performance cruising catamaran

My plans have changed and I am selling my 1984 Crowther Spindrift 38. This is a Spindrift 37 modified with a well-engineered kick-up rudder system including small hull extensions molded into the hull form for a perfect fit and a little over a foot added to the waterline length. This is a high performance cat, not a condo-maran, and I am not desperate to sell. I will only sell the boat to experienced sailors, preferably with multihull experience. I sailed the boat from Beaufort, NC to my home without a hitch so this is not a project boat, nor is it a good boat for those looking for a houseboat with sails. In other words, there is abundant storage space that you shouldn't use! I am fairly firm on my asking price of $73,000 and believe it represents an excellent value for someone who wants a bluewater capable high performance cat. Very nice! My wife has been after me for forward steps like you have. Do they function like a rigid center to the tramp?

And the flip up rudders look very ingenuous. Details how they flip up?

Mine too, Ed, though I fear adding weight up front, and the hassle of tripping over the steps. Whatever it is has to strong enough to hold up to a crewman falling on it in a seaway. In my case, 2 compression posts on each side of the ladder into which the tramps would tie. 10 feet long, plus the ladder itself.

Sold to a CF member who will use it as intended. Not much interest here on the forum and I honestly haven't seen a better deal in a turn-key catamaran.
