Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

Lets hope not. When things settle down this is the thread I hope Eric or Charlotte will give the "straight from the horse's mouth" chain of events.

You know forums are windows of history, and I've...

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

3000,

Both Eric and...

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

I agree Delfin. I couldn't help but notice about 2 hours after Eric's first post-event post there was about 50 forum members on the thread and 300 visitors. This info is always found at the bottom of...

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

That video did shed light on the fact that Eric had possibly (2) HF SSB radios, but as was mentioned neither was operative. Sounds to me maybe an antenna or tuner issue. When I cruised in the Sea of...

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

To give you some insight as to who Ms. Dilloway is, of course in her own words. https://margaretdilloway.com/about-2/ I have always wondered why our current crop of journalists don't research their...

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

It won't stop at $10K but it is rounding the amount now. Before I chipped in, it was still displaying to the exact dollar, after I went back to see my "bump", I didn't get to see it because it went...

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

Midweek as reported by media, but as sailors we know the frigate cruises at 25 kt, so 600 nm daily runs. My rough guess is 1450 nm from point of rescue to SD.

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

I understood him to say that if Eric gets a bill, he will withhold paying his taxes, if Eric isn't billed for the rescue he will pay his taxes.

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico

Me too, as all my long passages (except for one on my Cal 40 30 years ago) have been on vessels in the 30,000 to 100,000 ton range. One thing that can be said of both Eric and Charlotte's writing,...
