Re: Sailing Lake Michigan

You could spend week easy staying in Grand Traverse Bay. I would recommend checking out a Lake Michigan Cruising guide or check out the Great Lakes Cruising Club website.

Re: Sailboats that can be trailered easily.

Re: Solar vents- safe for offshore?

Just a quick warning about solar vents. They are easy to pop out of the hatch. My boat was broken into by popping off the vent and reaching in the opening to open the hatch. If you use them, put a...

Re: Eliminate main sheet traveller?

Vang sheeting works well for dinghys but on a larger boat like yours I would be afraid of breaking something. Get your traveler system working well and play around with it. You will be glad you have...

Re: Eliminate main sheet traveller?

I wouldn't do it. The traveler is just as important as the mainsheet for trim. Basically the sheet controls leech twist and the traveler controls the sheeting angle. If you get bad weather helm you...

Re: Are Trojans that much better?

I can't find Trojans for anywhere near $100 around here. $150 is the cheapest I could find. Although that is without a core exchange. The Sam's club are $85 with core exchange. They will take my old...

Are Trojans that much better?

I am replacing the house batteries in my boat. I have decided to go with flooded golf cart batteries. I can buy Trojan T-105s foR $150 each and generics (Duracell) with the same capacity and the same...

Re: Service heat exchanger

I took mine to a radiator repair shop and they boiled it to clean out all of the passages, replaced the gaskets, etc for a very reasonable price.

Re: Engine Temperture
