As the official CF Grammar Nazi, what I have to say about this is - nothing. There's actually nothing wrong with this, nor with split infinitives, nor even really with double negatives (other than being a little old-fashioned).

I love this joke:

A freshman at Harvard from Mississippi came up to an upperclassman and asked: "'Scuse me, could you please tell me where the library's at?"

The upperclassman sniffed, and said: "Here, at Harvard, we do not end our sentences with prepositions."

The freshman thought for a second, then said: "I'm sorry; let me rephrase that. Could you please tell me where the library's at, a$$hole?"

But confuse "its" with "it's", and I'll kick your a$$.

Is it okay then if you use double inverted commas where you should have used singles?

And here's a confusing one; 'its' is the possessive case, where 'it's' is a contraction. But, when denoting possessive case, the rule is to apply an inverted comma prior to the 's'. So in theory, 'its' should be a plural of an indefinite article, 'it's' should remain a contraction, but 'it's' should also denote possession.

Can I join your Nazi party?

If you think that's a confusing one, then your application is somewhat suspect, but we do give points for enthusiasm.

Re: What would YOU be a brand ambassador for?

Oh, quite a few I'd like, in no order of importance, or expectation of realisation, or admission of actual possession imagined or otherwise.....

Kollmorgen (er....special purpose marine optics, shall we say...); Claybourne (oilskins); Snap-Off, Metrinch, AEG and Rigid (tools); Stainless Motors Inc. (electric motors, stainless of course); Hensoldt (binoculars); Swiss-O-Par (coconut hair wax...keeps me whiskers sprightly!); Kassai (bows...archery, not hair, silly); LOWA (boots); Yves St Laurent (nice foofoo for that special Lady, if I ever find her); AC Shelby (just a little runabout for doing the shopping...honest..); Accuracy International (varmint rifle); Brunton (hand compass); Bundy Black (Rum...mmmm...mmmm); Gudang Garam (kretek cigarettes); oh, I can't think of many more at the moment, too busy drooling. bbl

Of course, the old line yachties would recoil in aghast horror at the notion of carrying messages for tradespeople. Yacht name and hailing port, yacht name on the life-saving apparatus, monogram on your linens, labels on your wine bottles... what else do guests need to read?

Re: What would YOU be a brand ambassador for?

Quality gear is recognisable without any labels or logos, though monogramming my undies or going to the bother of labeling my plonk and moonshine is going too far.

Mind you, customs are less likely to go sniffing my homebrew rum if I keep it in bottles marked ALCOHOL - STOVE FUEL - POISON, so perhaps there might be a use for labels after all. Come to think of it, a label on my unmentionables might come in handy too....Mon, Tue, Wed, etc? Jan, Feb, Mar, etc? Or 2012, 2013, 2014 etc? Hmmm....open other end.

Or your for you're.

Confusing less and fewer will annoy me but will try to bite my tongue, figuratively speaking.

And supposedly Churchill, went confronted with the preposition issue said, “This is the sort of bloody nonsense up with which I will not put.”

Obviously it is confusing for those people you threaten with an a$$ kicking . My application is however, sound, and my enthusiasm for the language has not abated despite it being my stock in trade for over forty years.
