Cruising people all lead slightly unconventional lives and its very rare to meet anyone with hang ups. They are happy to mix with people from different countries, education, religion, socio economic background and of course sexual orientation.
Get togethers are very casual, no one will care.

To the OP: you will certainly run into more open homophobia in that part of the world than in UK. Much more, if you go to muslim countries. It won't be anything dangerous, though - East Med is like Middle East, but not quite the same.

My land travels in Europe F/F and M/M couples did not attract any undue notice.

Outside western Europe it might be prudent to be somewhat circumspect just based on gender and being without "male escort". In north Africa my wife drew a lot of unwanted attention if out by herself. To be fair we had the same problem in places in the Caribbean and Mexico as well.

My guess is that the reaction afloat will be pretty much the same as ashore - mixed, with a large dollop of curiosity (aka nosiness!) - the favourite occupation of folks on boats is not sailing or even travelling..........it's gossiping , and anything different (from the average day) qualifies, and my guess is that without the raindow that a lot of that will be around: "are they - aren't they" (that could be both annoying and / or fun to play with ).

Always pros and cons to being different from the mainstream, as much about whether someone recognises that there are differences and how each then handles them that will impact on how things turn out (asshats excepted )........as very often it is the singer and not the song that makes the difference .

The good thing with boats is that not stuck with neighbours, afloat or ashore .

Hi and welcome. My partner Deborah and I are two women now in our second season cruising in the Med. We often have all women crew when friends join us from New Zealand. So far we've travelled in Italy, France, Greece, Albania, Montenegro and now Croatia. We often encounter surprise along with encouragement. We notice quite a lot of what we call " spot the willy" as we come into some harbours. Then it's "touta Donna?" All in good humour (like the Greek waiter a month ago "where are your husbands!" Other cruisers have been relaxed (just like this mob here).

It's a great adventure - google sailblogs and Murihiku if you want to see more, and feel free to email us too. We had Pip and Sarah from Eoaring Girl aboard in Elba last year.

We find the sailing community different from landlubber's society. Even the people we've met on forums and who initially assumed I had a male SO apologized when I told them otherwise but never rescinded the invitations to get together when we were visiting their towns. In general, the sailing community has been great. Not so on land. It's a crapshoot.

When out East recently looking for a boat, we did get one broker that tried to sell us a piece of junk, but I think that was more the women are dumb thing than a same sex thing. But one broker I contacted was very anxious to help us out at first. Then I used terms like "my partner" and "she" and now he's gone silent.

You never know.

My advice is go for it girls and enjoy every minute of the ride.

The land and some harbours may be full of morons BUT THE OCEAN IS OUT THERE for everybody. Indifferent, beautiful and free.

Can't see an F/F crew is going to make any difference. Sailing does tend to be a male dominated endeavor with few female skippers, so you'll raise a few eyebrows as you first come in when some are looking for the male skipper. If you can handle your boat, they'll forget all about the male skipper.
The really good news is that if you run into people whose attitude you don't like - pull the hook and sail away.

Yes , but moving on from idjuts is not simply a same sex thing. A squillion other "reasons" but effect and action to solve for self the same .....move on and don't carry idjuts with you in own head.
