Re: Your Favorite Drink and Toast: Sailing, Boating or Ocean Related

I thought the comment about whisky and whiskey were interesting. I had thought, for as long as I can remember, that "whisky" meant only Scotch, while whiskey referred to the other brown colored liquors. Live and keep learning every day if one is observant and fortunate. [Hey, the first six words of that last line would be an OK toast.]

Re: Your Favorite Drink and Toast: Sailing, Boating or Ocean Related

Two drinks to share:

The first is coconut rum and blue Gatorade, it's the only drink in the world that causes and cures hangovers. Old family recipe

The second is one part rumchata, and one part becherovka, (called a bear skin rug) or you can add an extra part of dark rum, substitute the becherovka for fireball, and add a bit of mulled apple cider (then it's called a spicey wow)

As far as toasts go

Here's to a long life, and a merry one; a quick death, and an easy one; a pretty girl, and an honest one; a cold beer - and another one!

Here's to nipples, without them boobs would be pointless!

Hope the moderator gets a bit of a chuckle before deleting that last bit anyway.....

At a typical skydiving festival at the evening events...

Arghhh Mateys, fetch me another cabin boy, this one is split!

Yep, much like sailors, sick, twisted freaks!

I just chug my water, look into the sunset, and hope that my memories don't start leaking out of my eyes like they sometimes do.
You are a wonderfully touching person of rich memories.

Like you, i drink plain water from tank reservoir. But if you come onboard as my guest, i have Provenance whisky and fine golden rhum.

In Sicily, muscat or zibibbo wine is good, after meal

The drink is flexible. The toast is not: "Salud, pesetas, y amor......y tiempo para gozarlas" (Health, wealth, and love...and time enough to enjoy them)

The Valentine Cocktail: Gin, Key Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, and a dash of Cointreau shaken with ice, poured into a flute, and then topped with Champagne.

Or a good Rum, neat.

Toast varies depending on the company, but often I give the full text of, "Dead Man's Chest."

Fair winds,

We can drink together! I enjoy a fine martini with a box press 1926 Anniversary Padrone'.
