That other thread has now been shut down (I think I know which one it was) and this one is still going. You're on the right track.

Cheers!

Under way- One real beer,(no making love in a canoe beer) at lunch, one glass of appropriate wine with dinner. No More!
At Anchor-Beer all day, Talisker Storm Single Malt before dinner, wine with dinner.

Wherever we were we checked out the local beer, wine and liquor. Tequila in Mexico, Rum in Central & South America, etc. Christmas holiday time in Puerta La Cruz, Venezuela in 1993, (before Chavez) we had a cruiser's rum tasting in a marina, very formal as we had been involved in California wine growing, processing, aging and tasting. Great fun and guess what was chosen as the best? The cheapest VZ rum, El Cacique.

Be sure to take plenty of beer when you go to the Bahamas as it is very expensive there and you can trade a 6 pack for a fresh sea food with the locals :-)

I have really been craving mojitos lately! Yum! But I am also a TN girl so whiskey and cream soda is also one of my favorites. Be good, or be good at it!

Sorry, need clarification on this one. By whiskey (from your location) do I understand bourbon, or something else? Need to know.

And reminds me of a discovery on one hiking trip: dark rum and orange Gatorade. Try it!

Bourbon is more generic but primarily associated with Kentucky.
A TN girl should drink "Tennessee Whiskey".
(Bourbon style, produced in Tennessee using the "Lincoln County Process")

Obviously my whisky (Canadian spelling) culture needs further development.

Re: Your Favorite Drink and Toast: Sailing, Boating or Ocean Related

I haven't seen these 2 classic toasts. The Pirate toast:
"May you get what you want, may you get what you need, but may you never get what you deserve... arrg"
And, of course...
"Here's to keeping your boat in the drink and your drink on the rocks rather than You in the drink and the boat on the rocks." or something like that...
thanks to Capt'n Jack Armstrong of Stonington, CT . hope your still kicking around in your merriment/retirement.

Yes, Tennessee whiskey or bourbon. One night I tasted all types of bourbon and whiskey and learned all about it, but unfortunately I ended up too tipsy to remember anything of importance! I just know i like it mixed with cream soda, or ginger ale for something less sweet.

Why did I know who the OP was when I saw the title, but no name? That said:

To friends, present, absent, past, missing, and departed." [order and exact content varies]

The favorite drink depends where I am, who is present and paying, what, if anything I am doing, and the weather, but can range from a simple gin and tonic, a local beer, Guinness Stout, a good imperial stout, a rum drink (preferably not punch), to tequila of various types, or in a margarita.
