Post your favorite holiday boating gift from this year !
My brother rocks...
He sent me 2 boxes:
1. Misc. High end SS clamps in various sizes... about 300 ?
2. SS ball valves, 1/4" to 1"... About 50 !!!!
I couldn't imagine retail on these!
Surely you received something more fun???

Re: Post your favorite holiday boating gift from this year !
Wow, your brother does rock, that box of goodies is mesmerizing 😃
Brian and I are always giving each other gifts year round ( new IPad, AIS, sunbrella :-) ) so we don't really have an official gift exchange on Christmas morning.
Not sure if this counts, we haven't gotten it yet, but our Christmas present to each other is another Engle for Rain Dog to use a freezer. My favorite early Christmas present was a visit to the Shark Lab in Bimini last month.

Happy,
you should close them valves and tighten the clamps,
You know - safety first
Happy New Year

Erika,
I would be elated with any of the three you mentioned PLUS the Engle to be sure!
Shark Lab looks fun... I'm blue/grey with envy...

Happy new year to your guys!

Love it... It would be really funny if the "bottom" was actually centered in the mug...

Re: Post your favorite holiday boating gift from this year !
While not technically a "boat gift", the boat itself was my gift. After waiting more than 30 years, I finally found my dream - a 1975 Cal 2-29. Stepping aboard, I am flooded with memories of a childhood spent sailing with my dad.
Best. Gift. Ever.

Re: Post your favorite holiday boating gift from this year !
Well, I received a great book called "Glaciers, Bears and Totems" by Elsie Hulsizer. That, in itself, may not seem like much, but behind it is my husband's tacit promise that yes, we will indeed go sailing in Southeast Alaska come summer of 2016.
The best gift ever!

One of my favorite off shore sails was in a cal 2-29. The seas were dead flat and the wind was 15 knots!! Dang that boat can sail! No autopilot just balanced sails and a big horizon. Sweet. You picked a beauty :-) Merry Christmas.

Re: Post your favorite holiday boating gift from this year !
My most recent boat related gift was one I purchased (used) for myself: a 16' Navarro Otter composite canoe. Thinking "Deliverance", but without the sex.

Re: Post your favorite holiday boating gift from this year !
Very nice brother, Happy. If you ever need to re-gift some of those ball valves, do let me know They look brand new, too! Wow....I'm jealous.
Cait, great boat
I'm going to respond in a similarly sentimental way. The best gifts have been the time I spend with friends talking to them about projects, getting their advice and offers to help. I'm a self-sufficient soul, but it is a huge (HUGE, I tell ya) undertaking to refit and upgrade a boat. I knew this going in, and yet I knew nothing. Someone's time and advice are my most highly valued and cherished gifts.
