New Build

Hi all
My Wife and I are building a 43' ship, we've named Sweetie
She is going in the water in June of 2009, in Westport Washington
We plan on cruising the inside passage for our shake down. then going back to Seattle to our son's boatyard for modifications that we need before the milk run to the 50th State, we will decide where to go from there. We hope to be traveling with our youngest son and his wife, They have a 41' sloop with a new in boom roller reefing they are very proud of. We would like to meet people who are planning the cruise in 2010 also, as we like going in groups.
Our ship is fully equipped freezer, Washer dryer, water maker, and more
I have built boats all my life and Juanita have done extensive cruising in the Sound, and some offshore, however this will be our first th the mid Pacific.
We don't get sea sick and we have well developed sense of humors.
Juanita is the best cook I have ever been married to, actualy the only wife I've been married to.
We have 8 children ranging from Joey 30, to Mona 48. we have 14 Grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
We have an outside cat that will be cruising with us, her name is Captain cat. She has been the quality control while I have been building the boat, she climbs the aluminum ladder up and down, and has trained me pet her on the way down and when we get to the bottom, she's quite bossy.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your yacht sounds very beautiful. I'd love to see some photographs of her under construction and when finnished. Can you post some here or in an album?

My husband and I bought a classic 1959 Herreshoff Ketch S/V ORCA. She is currently in Northern California. We plan to sail her to Alaska next summer.

Maybe we will meet and cruise up a ways together...

Best wishes, SpinDrift

Welcome Wayne

I sure envy those who can say with such mater-of-fact-ness that the boat will be launched at a particular time.

I guess that’s the benefit of experience.

I’ve been saying “next summer” since 2006 and I’m just a refit in the water.

Sounds like a wonderful plan.

I too would love to see some pictures under construction.

Once again…Welcome!
