Ahoy . . . We Just Bought a Liveaboard Sailboat !

My husband and I just purchased a lovely little 26' S2 Sloop named "Shenanagins Too" and plan on living aboard her very shortly. We are currently looking for live aboard Marinas in the between Sanford and Edgewater in Florida.
Breaking from land is going to be exciting and we are eager to learn more from others who have done the same! Two parrots and a kitty are accompanying us in our new lifestyle.
So will be on the forums reading and learning hope to meet some fellow cruisers real soon.

It's quite the transition. Take lots of pictures and write down your thoughts and experiences in a blog if you can. Helps you reflect as you go through it.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
That is quite a move. A 26 footer in the warm climates is not too bad but if you move to colder areas it does get a bit cramped. If you shower ashore and do most your cooking at the bbq pit instead of onboard that helps quite a bit.
kind regards,

Lol don't worry we aren't going anywhere north we like the warmth,,,and we will shower ashore and never eat at home anyways....
We already exist pretty much in one room in the house so it is just a matter of getting our supplies down to just the essentials...
We are excited

Welcome to CF!!

I used to live in Orlando, I understand Edgewater, but Sanford? Are you planning on living on the St. John River, Lake Monroe/Jessup?

Good luck with living on the boat, it could be an adventure in that area!

Re: Ahoy . . . We Just Bought a Liveaboard Sailboat !

Decision made gonna live in Monroe Harbour Marina in downtown Sanford...access to lake Monroe and the river...great place to learn to sail and the people at the Marina seem great. Just gotta choose a slip...likely going to be on "F" Dock
Monroe Harbour Marina

That marina looks very clean and a wonderful place to live. Must be exciting for you. Congratulations and a very nice looking boat indeed.
