CPAATSEA
Hard to beat it.
Being retired Mil, many added extra bennies when cruising.
Get out of there and go, you can live very well on your retirement if you don't throw it away on all the fluff and stuff of the touristy ports.
Tis my plan, and will start in the spring next year.
I was having thoughts of tryign to find a second crewmember, but have decided to just see what the sea sends my way on my travels.
Life is too short fo drama, or hassles.
Good luck and Fair Winds and Kinder Seas.

Lookoutnw:
I think you're correct, I just have to get my youngest child out on her own before I can go, responsibilities first.
Are you retired military as well? My thought is that we would have some unique benefits and opportunities. Do you know of a group for active & retired military to exchange information?
Fair winds and following seas.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

cpaatsea--you are fortunate to have at your disposal, availability dependent--military yacht clubs and marinas at lower fees than allegedly normal citizenry. also, once you are disabled, you are eligible for both social insecurity disability and va benefits. so if you are a broken vet , you are golden.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Thanks for the info Zeehag.

I know that some of the bases around the world allow for transient docking as well have as U.S. type stores. As retired U.S. military I have health insurance that has some unique features. I was thinking that a forum to exchange information about facilities and other information would be nice.

Perhaps this is something I need to initiate.
