I'm fairly sure it was a 200A fuse and the shunt was 6ga. My only thought was, 'If I'm find this kind of crap, what else will I find? Do I want anything to do with this boat?'

We walked away.

Here's the magnet motor.

Actually, that looks more like someone was doing a quick vampire tap to get power from the circuit for another load. Still not exactly kosher, but maybe less silly than it first appears.

It is amazing that she appears not hogged The boat, not your wife). She actually may be a worthwhile project for someone with experience in wooden boats.

The detailed pics show everything I need to know. I mean it has a head, and a grill, what else does a sailor need?

Kinda interesting advert really. Useless picture, as per the thread topic.

But the write up is pretty good.

Then the cynic in me said... actually, this write up is very good. Very good at discouraging a potential buyer. A careful list of serious problems and a total unwillingness to negotiate.

I reckon this one is a contender for a "Wife told me to sell it" badge.

I bet it is actually a very pretty boat and the seller knows a good photo would create a credible risk of a sale.

The owners of this boat are actually offering to PAY YOU $800 to take it away:

Sadly, I think it was once a really beautiful vessel.

Re: Post the Worst "For Sale" Picture You've Seen.

Not a "worst picture," but I have recently been looking at 16-18 foot runabouts on Craigslist. I cannot tell you how many ads I've seen that have one, fuzzy picture from a distance (sometimes with a cover on the boat), and all the ad says is something like "boat for sale, good motor."

Come on, man! Give me some little clue about the length of the boat, hp of the motor, make, model, year... I mean SOMETHING!!!

Are there really people out there who are so stupid that they think that's a good way to selll a boat!?! Yeah, I guess there must be. SHEESH!

Re: Post the Worst "For Sale" Picture You've Seen.

Many people end up with stuff originally bought and used by someone else who's no longer around, have no clue about nor interest in the product category, just want to get rid of it.

How to pick up great bargains sometimes.

I could see someone buying this to adapt to a nautical themed or seafood restaurant or bar where it could see new life at least inspiring some folks to get sailing.

John's right, there are folks who inherit boats and have no idea what it is worth, and may not care too much, and just want to get rid of it. Hence my fantasy of boatyard full of classics that just need a little TLC to bring them back to life and sailing again...
