Re: Wanderer or Adventurer .. which are you?

I would have to agree with some of the posts here that Vigor is labeling. Or at least mislabeling. To me a Wanderer is someone who isn't lost because he doesn't care where he is going. A foot-loose and fancy free being. An Adventurer is one who seeks out the thrill and zest of life. Who relishes the thought of having to think quick on their feet in situations that arise in strange and wonderful places.
By those definitions, I hope I am both and try to rise to the occasion.
The wanderer he describes is a lost soul, throwing money at their life to try and make something happen. At least they are getting out there and doing it and the likelihood of learning more about life and true freedom will stand a better chance for them rather than if they stay at home dreaming about it...like so many do.

Wandering is an adventure, you never know what is going to happen next.

Re: Wanderer or Adventurer .. Which are You?

According to Tolkien, "Not all those who wander are lost"; however, some who are lost have adventures. I'm rarely adventuring on board my sailboat, but I've been lost in my kayak.

Life is what's happening when you're making other plans.

Agreed!

Many will plan themselves right into staying at the dock. And no amount of planning will ever eliminate the unexpected, so I just plan to see my plans changed, and therfore plan as little as I can. That's MY plan...YMMV

Oh, and I'm a wanderer who has PLENTY of adventures without planning to!
