Condensation in Fridge

Is it normal for your fridge to need defrosting every two weeks? It's a top door, 12v., and in the Caribbean. Works great; makes ice overnight. Anyone tried those moisture crystals in the fridge?

How are the seals on the fridge? I'm not an expert, but I was informed by one that if you don't have air tight seals, you'll get frosting on the inside.

Seals or no seals, if it is humid where you are, outside warm air gets in every time you open the lid.


Every two weeks is not unusual. Turn the fridge off for a few hours and let it defrost. And, as always, do NOT be tempted to poke the evaporator with anything sharp!
