I had that rule thrown my way.....after I finished laughing I stated that I learned to pee a long time back and had no interest in anybody thinking they had any say what so ever how I pee! Piss off ! I think was one thing I said.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to sit on a cockpit drain! I know I can't and I never meet a woman who could do it either - and they are way more practiced at sitting than I am.

Maybe the boats you have crewed on mustn't use the cockpit drains...

OK, better add the emoji...

Not just a women's rule. That's my rule too

If you don't want to sit down: don't use the head - go topside.

Re: Whats the RULES!!

My rules are really simple.

1. I don't give a damn who bought it ! The last beer is mine.
2. Cap'n gets all the chocolate.
3. No family member gets on or off the boat without a hug.

I wouldn't go on a boat with that rule. Although I probably don't know anybody that would make that rule. I mostly pee over the side. And I have a urinal on the boat mostly for when I have feminized men aboard that can't pee over the side.
The only hard rules I have is no going on the weather deck without checking in and out with the watch, and wearing a life jacket with a strobe light & whistle at night.

People aren’t really even reading the rules people are posting on the thread so far

No problem. Option b is that you clean the head. One less thing for me.

Because I posted a rule that was much better than a pee rule and no one even noticed it.

It was noticed, but the shock and awe of the pee thing is still wearing off.

New rule: Once the discussion turns to peeing in cockpit drains, all useful information posted from then on will be ignored.

Their boat. Their rules. If you dont like it then get off the boat...which is what you would be doing if you responded to any of my rules aboard that way.

Re: Whats the RULES!!

This discussion is getting pissed-on, so let's tack and try it on the other board ...
1. Water stays on the outside, and people stay on the inside.
2. We're here to have fun. No one is paying us to do this (except for you delivery folks, Boaty). I wish more people who got mad at their leisure activities (looking at you sail racers and golfers) would follow this rule.
3. The gun'l is a 500-foot cliff. If you fall over, start swimming cause you probably aren't getting back on.

Re: Whats the RULES!!

Boat Rules are for landlubbers. All boaters typically follow roughly the same set of rules, because they have boats themselves. Do you have to tell house guests not to defecate on the kitchen floor? No, because you shouldn't HAVE to. It's simple courtesy.

The easiest solution is to have one single rule:

RULE: No non-boaters on the boat

Truth. That is a hard-learned rule.

We have One Overwhelming Undisputable Rule: It doesn't go into the toilet unless it went through your body or is "this" toilet paper. No hair, no Kleenex, absolutely nothing goes in that toilet if it hasn't passed through you.

To emphasize (and since I learned the hard way) there are no Kleenex on the boat, and no paper towels in the head. Go ahead. Put a box of Kleenex in the head and see what happens.
