As for O-rings in the future, try here:

Problem is the o-rings are metric! Mcmaster doesnt ship to canada (already been down that road!) spent a week looking for them and eventually just gave in and bought them from the frigoboat distributer!

I've not had a problem finding metric o-rings in the states. Is it really that hard in Canada?

Gord, from what you say, I think I understand that in Canada, you can't buy the typical auto-shop can of 134a (and by extension, likely not the hose kit, either)?

Somebody in the rent-seeking business has been busy up there, it seems. And if OP were near, a pop over the border would provide him the opportunity.

I wonder if, say, Detroit (hard on Canada's Windsor, if memory serves), or, say, Niagara Falls auto supply stores have placards proclaiming that they won't sell to Canadians (those products, of course)...

And they ship up north.

That's actually what I did before I realized that I had O-ring issues. The boat was originally in Grand Island NY (where I was able to pick up a can of R134a, it never occured to me that its not available in Canada), now that I'm in Toronto its 2hr drive to pickup a can of R134a. at this point now that I have the o-rings and the system is holding pressure, I might just get a tech to pull a vacuum and refill it so I know that its running correctly.
