Balsa core

replacing some rotted balsa with new. The balsa comes with a fabric on one side. Does it matter how that is applied. BTW, I am doing this from below. thanks

Re: Balsa core

Below!!???

Have fun, BTDT with nonew of the horror stories that abound on the 'net. Shouldn't make any diff on t. cloth side.
There are some specialty adhesives that work for synthetic cores; but I believe thickened resin will work well for balsa. Perhaps a slight neat coat on each surface, then a gauged (vinyl flooring notched trowel ) coat of cabosil thickened resin? worked for me on straight layup w/o core. Held the 1708 well as I filled with neat resin.

HTH,
Paul
