Any Ideas What This Is?

Crawled into cockpit locker to do a project and discovered this. I believe those are fuel lines going to it but did not have time to trace. Any ideas on what it is or does?

Pictures are twisted. The cylinder is vertical.

Hoses small diameter, stiff and come out of the bottom.

It is mounted as high as you can get in the cockpit locker.

Rex Since you don't have the time to trace the lines which might take five or ten minutes and would likely answer your own question, why did you instead take the time to post the photos and pose the question--and why should we who are in the middle of all our spring boating projects worry our heads about your query?

I don't know what it is but I do hope the one wire is for a speaker and not used as a power line.

Doubt its a filter, no room for changing without removal..
It could be an enclosed vent/return in case of an inversion to stop water getting into the fuel tank.. but that's just to logical I suppose..

Re: Any Ideas What This Is?

Espar, but do not think this is a day tank. I will crawl in in the morning and trace them but I have no idea what it could be. There is a different colour plastic part on top but did not move when I grabbed onto it., No room above for removing or inspecting anything. New to me boat has lots of stuff I have never seen before. I would guess the capacity of the tank at about 2-3 litres.

Hydraulic steering or autopilot on your boat?

Re: Any Ideas What This Is?

I did notice earlier that there is some sort of strange anti-growie system in the fuel system. No idea how it works either. Could be part of it?
