some arab pasha poobah just completed his 532 ft yacht at a cost of $504,000,000. it's called " dubai". i guess there is still some money lying around to build a "why". being a minimalist, i rather liked it.

It is truly amazing that someone has invested time and money in this project.

Looks same or very much like the new Wally.

And the slogan they used in front of the Flash ... blahbalhblah .... new.... blah ... relationship ... ;-))))

But I bet it will sell - Abramovich, this King of that and that king of this will buy one or a couple to impress other rich and the crowds. Sort of like the cathedrals in the past.

Some really interesting energy design concepts put into a large scale for a motoryacht.

Would love to see the tank test data on G forces as they specify a reduction in performance after only Force 4 (11 to 15 knots) or moderate sea state

I think at Force 10 it would be going backwards..

Wonder how it would behave in this? …

I wonder who designed the stabilizing system for the ship in the video? As for "Why".... I don't think that boat will ever be built,

Problem with that type of stabilizer system on the cruise ship is that it needs forward speed to be effective.

With the Bridge designed all the way forward and quite low, I imagine the crew are a bit concerned by being overwhelmed by a head sea, so are just wallowing at angles trying to keep steerageway, without wiping out the Bridge. (what happens when you allow accountants to design ships)

I have used dynamic stabilizers that are active even at anchor and would do better in these conditions

WHY did I have to wait so long for the page to load?
WHY can't I decide when to move to the next picture?
WHY did I waste my time looking at something that I wouldn't buy even if I could?

Correct. All sound info lacks. LxBxD - HAWL, this is just an artists impression of what could be realised. Or not. A big raft. No more than that. With similar seakeeping facilities.
Be my guest.
