My Gut response when I come across this kind of attention getting stunt is to hope that no one pays them any notice. That they are quietly shunned…. ignored by serious mariners who have a deep and personal respect for the sea and the community of sailors who humbly cross them.

I see he is meant to be going in 2 weeks... so can only have a mx time of 2 weeks in the water before leaving... less as I just read his ravings:

I think he's living on the edge. Just look at the number of articles that ran about building a ferrocement s/v. How many are still in back yards because the dreamer lost the dream. At least this guy's dream is about to begin. I wonder if he is a naval architect? It looks like a sleek s/v. Remember the America's Cup contender that broke in half? Just some thoughts from the other side.

He launched today and has been towed to near Sausalito..word is that it floats but that the main hull is lower in the water than planned. Tough weather next couple of days so he may stay put till Friday for the shakedown (some would say shakeapart) cruise.

S.F. Bay is a perfect spot to test the boat out in a good winter storm. There are places to hide, and help close by. To me the boat doesn't look up to the task, but I am not an engineer. As I posted earlier he will either thin the gene pool, or have the last laugh....................

I think the CG towed him back in to shore, not sure but think it had something to do with the fact he never registered the boat. Like I sayed not real sure, just what I had heard.
