Alan builds both a cruising/ live aboard version & a racer/cruiser model, so it is up to you which way you want to go.
I chose the Stealth because I wanted a sailing boat that will go to windward, do some family cruising, as well as take in the odd regatta.
Hello Phantom.
I am considering buying a Second hand Stealth 13 named Galeforce.
I would be glad exchanging with you about these boats and the yard.
Antoine.

Hi Antoine,
Very happy to discuss anything you wish re Stealth designs. I have seen Galeforce out on the water, but have never been on board. I would say that Alan Carwadine, the builder would also be happy to give you information on her specifications.
Andrew

I looked at buying Afterburner but couldn't agree on price.

I spoke to Alan a couple of times and he was very forthcoming.

For me it was a great set up and a fast boat. Ended up with a Schionng and very happy with the decision so far.

Did you take delivery? How are you liking it so far?

Re: Alan Carwadine and Asia Catamarans ??

Hi Mango Cats sorry for the delayed response.
Yes we took delivery in November 2016 so she is coming up to two years old!
We been for a few short cruisers around Phuket & Langkawi we have competed in a number of regattas in Phuket. We love the boat she is a joy to sail, whether around the race track or just cruising. We are very happy with the layout we chose. We have left Phantom in Phuket at this stage as we still have a lot more of the area to see & there is a great sailing regatta & cruising scene up there. Our only frustration is we aren’t able to get up there more often!

Thanks for the reply, and no worries!

We're in a similar conundrum here, while there's a marina 10 minutes away the river it is in does get kind of familiar and un-exciting after too many trips up and down it, and it's 30 miles to open water from here, and another 25-30 to the next inlet, so a multi-day commitment to see something fresh.

But, then, just a week or two's cruise away are the Abacos - beautiful blue water, etc. etc. So, then, do you just fly in and hire a boat in the Abacos, or try to own one there and hope it's o.k. between visits that will be all too far apart.

If you don't mind my asking, who looks out for Phantom when you're away?

Re: Alan Carwadine and Asia Catamarans ??

In Phuket there are quite a number of ex pat experienced sailors who are happy to take on looking after a boat for a reasonable fee. Our boat usually sits in Chalong Bay on a swing mooring but is currently up in a yard having the anti fouling done..
Alan Carwadine from Asia Catamrans also is very helpful with any maintenance issues on his boats.
We know quite a few of the local sailing community after having sailed in a few regattas & it is a great group of people.
