We live in Perth and our situation is a little different to yours in that my wife is relatively new to sailing but she is keen to build her experience. She is very practical having been around horses for many years and she is a heavy vehicle trainer here in WA.
We have 2 large properties that will need to be sold for us to buy a lock up and leave apartment and that should leave some funds to go into a boat purchase. Our time frame is 2022 by which time I should have a pension entitlement and we envisage sailing for 3-5 months a year.
We have an interest in exploring the Pacific but also the Med and a transatlantic at some stage via the Azores, as I particularly want to do the Bahamas, Exhumas etc and work my way down the chain to finish up at the San Blas islands. I do not have any "circumnavigation" ambitions, I am just keen to explore the next destination.
If any of this resonates with you, please contact me at whiteshoes at iinet.net.au
Hi Dave. I saw your thread on installing a camera on your mast and was wondering if you installed a camera, what is your experience, what camera and etc? I am doing a major mast work in the UK now and was trying to find any useful information on cameras and if anyone has a positive ex[erince of using in tight navigation areas like going in a narrow channel between reefs and etc. Thanks in advance for your help!
