48ft Cat 'New' for $295,000 US

Beebloo Yachting, Boats for sale

These Cats are made in Thailand and I have a Friend that has bought a sports fishing boat for this co as he lives in Phuket . The quality was the best he had seen for a long time and he has the money to but what he wants where he wants.

They make a 38ft and a 48tf cat I have sailed on the 38ft cat last year when I was over there, "A 38ft cat for $195US ....NEW ", And the quality of the fit out was superb.

It's to me anyway it's what you get for your money, For a start I thought Thailand what do they know about building boats but I was soon informed that the owner of the co. was a Aussie and for me I have seen what they can build.

worth a consideration

So, $500,000 less than the rest of the world hey?

Schionning Waterline 1480: Sailing Catamaran for Sale - Composite - Atl Duracore / Balsa / West Epoxy Sail Boats - Queensland (Qld) - Nsw

SCHIONNING COSMOS 14.6 SAILING CATAMARAN boat details - BoatPoint Australia

Not saying it's not true, but you have to wonder why they are $500,000 less than comparable builds.

And um, there is no mention in their list stating it has sails winches or mast.

It just says that they sail well.

Perhaps you can show me where it says they have rig sails and winches in the ad, seeing as I obviously cant read.

To be honest, I would be more suspicious if the rig were included for that price. Labor costs are only a percentage of final cost and can only be cut so much. No mention of engines in the equipment list either, although you do get a TV.

Referring to the Schionning cat

Having a sailing cat no matter how good it was with that much Petrol on board is not for me
It just says that they sail well.

As for the winches I have emailed them to check what is included as when I was sailing on the 38ft cat in Phuket last year and was told the boat cost under 220k US and that included all there electronics, "Wait and see"

But it is for others.
What has that to do with your advertisement and claims?

I'm sure they do..........................with a rig and sails.
The comment made is no proof that they actually have rig and sails.

The Spirited 480 (and 380) are designed and sold in kit form by Australia based Spirited Designs, run by Craig Schionning, son of Jeff. They have given me the cost of the kit and plans, and estimates for the cost of rig / sails / engines etc etc (but not electronics) as being around AU$400,000, or US$337,000. This does not include labour, shipping, or of course profit. Go figure.

It's easy to understand......loose a little on every sale, but make it up with the volume. Microsoft has been doing that on most of their products for years.

Lose a little?

Sounds like about $500,000 on every build

OK you are right, Sails and rigging are not included, It has just been confirmed.

BUT..........It's still a bloody cheap boat built by a Aussie using cheap Thai labour.

Add 200k for the sails and rigging that comes to $495k US dollars thats $585k Ausssie dollars compare that to the Schionning water line, "with Petrol out boards" or the old 2005 cosmas and they are not in the hunt..........We all thought Japan turned out **** stuff and look at them now, Now it's Thailand turn.....And I Have sailed on there 38ft cat and I could not fault it and my last boat was a 48 Bowman and I have been around boats and sailing for the last 35 years and my job is maintaining boats in the Marlborough sounds.

Even the 38ft cat at $195 US add sails and rigging and theres nothing in Aussie or anywhere that I know that can match it

Interesting business plan: lose a little on every sale, and with volume...end up losing a lot. Mmm, I'll run it by my accountant

I'm so glad you asked!! .

See photo below of a technician working on the starboard hull at our advanced factory, I believe he may even be calculating our carbon credits at the same time.

Looking at their webpage for the 480, what is a "self bounder cockpit"?
