Looking for female sailing companion..short term, with option to stay

It has worked before. By worked I mean found someone to sail with.

Many assume sex partner and while I guess that’s possible, one has to assume that the average Woman can detect if that’s what is going on pretty quick and take a walk. However not every one of these kinds of posts are about that. If I were single, I’d prefer traveling and sailing with a Woman and not a man, and it frankly may not be a romantic situation.
But not everyone could, and for that reason I’d advise any Woman to be careful as many Men are scoundrels, however I’d suspect that they learned that long ago.

A coupe of years ago a probably 60 yr old salty female sailor came through the Marina we were in, and had a crew member that was likely a 25 yr old male. Now I’m relatively positive that in that case there was nothing going on companionship wise, kid probably got a good taste of what cruising was like and learned a whole lot. And the older Lady got a young kid with all that energy as crew.
Sometimes it really is just sailing.

I think that this is what many people forget and sit in judgment on!
....Not realizing that the pursuit of anothers happiness is not yours to decide.

".. All the sisters of mercy, they are not departed or gone
They were waiting for me when I thought that I just can't go on
And they brought me their comfort and later they brought me this song
Oh, I hope you run into them, you who've been travelling so long

Yes, you who must leave everything that you cannot control
It begins with your family, but soon it comes around to your soul
Well, I've been where you're hanging, I think I can see how you're pinned
When you're not feeling holy, your loneliness says that you've sinned

Well, they lay down beside me, I made my confession to them
They touched both my eyes and I touched the dew on their hem
If your life is a leaf that the seasons tear off and condemn
They will bind you with love that is graceful and green as a stem

When I left they were sleeping, I hope you run into them soon
Don't turn on the lights, you can read their address by the moon
And you won't make me jealous if I hear that they sweetened your night
We weren't lovers like that and besides, it would still be all right
We weren't lovers like that and besides, it would still be all right

A64 all he is saying is that he wishes he had a German girl sailing with him. It was not a whole paragraph and with Google translate its not like Spot is talking a secret language.

Betty I think you might have dodged a bullet. This guy just sounds to good to be true (what sort of jerk does not reply to a German Temptress), he might have ended up feeding you to the Rotti!

Cheers

A lot of people do - Ms. Betty, you should not have any problems. I don't think many women have big difficulties finding a boat owner who's looking for someone to team up with.

Just obviously use common sense before you sign on for a long voyage though. I'd definitely get the feel for the situation over a few weeks and daysailing trips - which should not be a problem. Meeting peoples' friends, if possible, can tell a hell of a lot too. Just like having a few extra drinks at happy hour together can tell a lot.

I thought it was harmless and assumed something like it was. That’s why I didn’t delete it and then say English only please, but a little reminder doesn’t hurt.
I lived in Germany for three years myself and understand a little of it. But me speaking it is a joke, I make lots of silly mistakes, one time I said I’d like to eat in the beer garden and saw them smiling so I asked what was it that I really said? She told me that I had said that I would like to eat the beer garden
Then I told the neighbor girl that our dog was a Flugel Hund when she asked what kind of dog he was, I thought I said he was a bird dog, but apparently said he was a flying dog. Most appreciated that I was trying anyway.

How should he advertise ?

Granted there are creepy guys but there are millions of good guys and girls living by them selves because of the stigma of "the creepy guy". Put yourself in his shoes or the single girls shoes, and live and let live. Adverse comments might spoil peoples chance for happiness.

If pirate wants to find a sailing buddy, romantic or not he's not going to find them knocking on the boat. He's got to put himself out there and take a risk.

Best of luck everyone.

Dave you think he would have replied to the German Fraulein instead of ignoring her. Is he waiting for Pammy to drop him a private message?
Good on him for putting himself out there, its certainly interesting that he has a big dog onboard. You would imagine not many people would be keen to sail with a Rottweiler.

My bad. Thanks for the gentle reminder.

I am sure I have said worse by accident. Good on you for giving it a try.

Hey, maybe he's busy!
The OP lasted visited CF on 15-07 and you replied to him on 19-07.
There's still a chance

Re: Looking for female sailing companion..short term, with option to stay

I am not sure if some folks are seriously slagging the OP or just joshing him.

I find the post completely harmless, he is upfront about the dog, the boat and the cruise. Any kind of male - female interaction has a sexual possibility but it is just the way it works. Of course a responding woman would have to trust her instincts but that works both ways.

Posting here is hardly different than trolling the bars, churches, Tinder or the docks for a female crew.

I've considered doing exactly the same thing next Spring when I head off to the Baltic, but I may have to reconsider so as not to labeled "A Creepy Guy'.
