It is a big mooring field with some balls maybe 100 yards from the dinghy dock and others not nearly as close. There are several folks who row, or paddle a kayak, to shore. There is a great community spirit and quite possible to get a ride to shore for things like shopping and water. There are also places where people anchor out, at the East and West end of the field; not to mention in Sisters Creek which leads to the ocean.

Be aware of what is called the BKH vortex which you can easily get caught in with the result you will have problems leaving. I could get to great dive spots in an hour or less and catch lobster. Fishing is also great, and a nice beach is close. You don't need a car for shopping or supplies to refit. There is wifi at the marina and pumpouts are free.

It is my favorite marina in Florida.

My post assumed pumpouts were for marina customers.

From the web site

"Pump-Out Service
All marina customers receive one free holding tank pump-out per week. Vessels on mooring balls will be assigned a specific pump-out day upon arrival. Additional mobile pump-outs can be scheduled for any weekday by contacting the marina office AT LEAST a day in advance. Same-day service or weekend service is only available at the marina dock. Vessels must call ahead before approaching the dock. Fees are as follows:
One Weekly Pump-Out (for marina customers) – FREE
Additional Pump-Outs (& Non Marina Customers) – $5.00"

It's a wonderful service. They are exhibiting good stewardship of the anchorage and the customers are following their lead. When I was there last month I was swimming off my boat. I wouldn't have done that 10 years ago. KUDOS to the management!
