Unhappy OGM Trianchor Light Failure

Anyone else experience an OGM tri-anchor light failure? Mine is vintage 2006, pre-RFI issues but hard wired. The lights have started blinking erratically and intermittently. I have brought it down from the masthead and confirmed that the masthead cable is OK (test light is up there now) and the light works sometimes then acts erratic at other times. When erratic I can hear a slight whine from the light so I think the power supply is failing. OGM (now MEISA) has offered to sell me a new light at 30% discount, which is not really much of a deal - $300 for five years of use works out to $60/year, not very happy with that. Has anyone else had a failure or a light that has been in service longer than mine? I am trying to decide what their realistic lifespan is.

Mines about four years old now and is still working. But it is still exposed 24/7 so if I get another year or two I won't be too disappointed considering the energy savings I've got from it and that I've never had to go aloft to fix it yet.

I have an Aqua Signal tri-color that is 1984 vintage. Works well. It has circumnavigated. I converted it to Marine Beam LED two years ago. It has survived a lightning strike since then that blew my wind instruments apart. I have a spare LED BIBI set in case it pukes.

Mine failed within the warranty period, but I can't remember the details. It was replaced.

Consider replacing it with one of these: Tri-Color/Anchor/Stobe LED Waterproof Navigation Fixture

It is very high quality construction.

Re: OGM Trianchor Light Failure

Our OGM/tri-color light failed less than a year after being installed. It was shorting out but I presumed it was the wiring. We just pulled our mast and discovered that the wiring was not the problem - the light itself was the problem.

But I waited too long to deal with it so I'm outside the warranty. This was a pretty expensive light to get a year's usage out of. I'm done with OGM.

That's both sad and impressive. I would still contact the seller or maker direct and see if they will stand behind this product. I agree - too expensive for throw away. What type of failure? Photos help?
