I never really thought about it, but I guess I have a new one for worst boat name. I had a friend some time back with a San Juan 24 named "Pan". I guess he didn't get too many calls on the vhf.

One of the most memorable I've seen was 'Bull Ship', and the dinghy being towed behind it was 'Chicken Ship'

In a recent Practicle Sailor mag, it showed a large container ship with the name, Titan Uranus.

Renaming my boat

I'm renaming my new used boat - the "Leaky Cauldron." This is from the Harry Potter books. The Leaky Cauldron is the name of a pub that wizzards enter to get from the "normal world" to the wizzard world. The only one who will get the name is some 13 year old girl at a marina who lives and breathes Harry Potter.

My boat is also leaky, so I thought I'd keep with the theme.

I really like the hidden meaning of "Leaky Cauldron". That one deserves some points, and Wheels, there are just SO many things wrong with that one

Heard two boats talking on the VHF today. Cod's wallop and Cod pieces. They must be mates.

Easy to Understand.........

I read a post on another board where a Danish guy had named his boat after a historical local lady named 'Under'.

It was only when he tried to speak to the the coast guard on the VHF that the problem became clear......

'Under, Over'.

He says he now spells it phonetically.

This morning, while going to work. I've seen this big motor boat. And the name on the back said,"Cameltoe Hunter."

A friend of mine is cruising a 22' Falmouth Cutter named Norwhal. For those who have not seen a Falmouth cutter, no other boat more resembles a norwhal so closely.
