Re: Music to Sail by . . .

j j cale is cool but i would be thinking of american football and the new orleans saints with drew brees...he uses that song for a theme.........but it is a good song--might work instead of sea sounds.....

Re: Music to Sail by . . .

So much good music.

In the morning Arise, Third World,

Standing night watch, Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd.

Working on the engine, for some reason I always like Bach's Brandenburg Concertos.

Most any version of The A Train,

Kind of Blue, Miles.

Bela Fleck, whenever.

Stormy Weather, Billie Holiday.

When the weather is actually stormy, Purple Haze.

Dare I admit it in public, I occasionally listen to Buffet.

And yes Zee, I do love the sound of the wind and waves.

Re: Music to Sail by . . .

Shere kahn, The A Capella group from Princeton U. Was visiting Hopetown a few years ago and we took them sailing for the day. They had a concert to support the local SPCA equivelent and they practiced on our boat. Thirteen wonderful young folks on our little boat. Great day.

Re: Music to Sail by . . .

The OP said for sailing in perfect conditions.

I don't want to be a party pooper, but with the boat charging along in a 15 knot breeze, with the sound of the hull through the waves and the wind in the sails, why would you want to spoil that expensive sailing sound with music that you can listen to anytime, anywhere?
