Re: Overboard: wife missing from Oryx
Years ago, during a crossing from FL to Bimini, we were in radio contact with a vessel from which the wife went OB...a fishing boat found her alive and well a few hours later....she was not happy and had a few questions for her soon to be ex-hubby.

Re: Overboard: wife missing from Oryx
Oh, that Peter Hill - who used to sail on the junk rigged dory Badger- i feel like I know him, I have read so much about his junk rig sailing adventures. I do feel sorry for him. I hope she turns up.
I wonder what happened - just tripped and slipped? No tether? no lifejacket?

Not very subtle and quite inappropriate at such a terrible time.

I believe Annie and Peter split up and he found a new partner, but not sure.

Annie is the former wife of Pete, see https://www.blogger.com/profile/06839484196732830052 and Carly the current. Carly had a very nice blog about the voayages with Pete "ORYX" ODYSSEY

Re: Overboard: wife missing from Oryx
Hi,
It is sad when any sailor is lost at sea.
Anyone know the design/type/make of the Oryx?

Oryx is a Pete Hill's enlarged and modified version of B. Kohler KD 860.

Re: Overboard: wife missing from Oryx
Annie and Peter Hill sailed the plywood Benford dory Badger.
They split up and she took up with Trevor Robertson of the Iron Bark.
Trevor is the first man to overwinter in both the Antarctic and Arctic.
Annie overwintered with him in the Arctic, in Greenland.
Annie and Trevor remain in contact, but she has returned to her adopted home in New Zealand.
I believe the above to be true but my knowledge is a couple of years old.
Voyaging with Annie Hill
Voyaging with Annie Hill
I can't begin to imagine how I would feel were I in Pete's shoes.

Re: Overboard: wife missing from Oryx
Perhaps the mods could merge the two threads?

My apologies. No offense intended, but discussion of that possibility will obviously come up.
