Circumnavigation - sailing around the world

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I are from Califoria and want to take off to sail the world in the next few years.

Have any members here taken up such a voyage? Any tips for circumnavigating?

Thanks.

South pacific is awesome. Spend more time in the Marquesas and Tuamotus, less time in commercialized Tahiti.

I thought the point of sailing around the world was to see lots of different places.

Re: Circumnavigation - sailing around the world

The list is very unbalanced and shows a lack of knowledge or at least an unbalanced view of the world. There are some ten itemised destinations in a list of 18 around north America. Yet Europe and Asia which is about 60% of the planet get just two mentions.
I think this guy really needs to get out and explore the world a bit and realise we dont just orbit around one continent. The Indian ocean and the Mediterranean are just two of the world's great cruising regions.

Yes. Quite a few.

Sail locally for a while, only visiting civilisation once a month and see how you go.....
