(I'm just teasing you about all this by the way)
Now I'm no longer happy with my galvanized bucket handle. I want one with a stainless handle. Shiny things are good.

Not at all, these are Luxuries, which I define as illogical and not necessary, but are nice to have. Like ice.

Man I'll tell you if your out in the desert somewhere, you just can't imagine how wonderful a few cubes of ice are

Oh, we will have a hair drier, maybe not use it much, but I'm not going to tell her she can't have it, after all, she is coming with me, right?

Damn! So a sticky label with a badly hand written "Calvados" and "50%" on it, slapped on the bottle, means my home made Calvados isn't an 'event'?

Is ear wax ok, or do I have to buy special stuff?

{I do love good Calvados }

PS I can see I am going to have to buy one of those wax seal thingies. I'll get one with "This is a wax seal" written inside it.

A real toaster (electric one)!!! So much better and less trouble that toasting bread on the stove or in the oven.

Re: Boat Luxuries

Much more useful than a toaster is a toaster oven, like the DeLonghi Alfredo. It does toast to perfection. But it can also roast a whole fryer, warm up pizza, bake bread, etc.

We are not. Wife has a 1600 watt hair dryer and a 1500 watt sine wave inverter with LiFePo4 battery which keeps her happy and defrosts the freezer as well.
When I mention we need new flexible, more efficient solar panels to replace older, heavier glass ones she says, "GO FOR IT !!"

She's a keeper.

Video drone! Gotta have one.. get one now. They will soon be required to be certified "real cruiser!" (Have to confess though.. it would be fun to have one, now that I think about it. )

Hmm... as annoying as gensets on the foredeck. Fortunately they don't have big enough batteries to fly for all that long. Had one flying about here in Towlers bay a few days ago. BBUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Seemed to be flown from on shore, not a fellow boater.

So, maybe fun for the operator, not for his neighbors.

I was flying my drone from my boat whilst wearing FPV glasses and did a tight sweep around my yacht, or so I thought. Then realised it was not me.

After landing I took the dinghy over to apologise and was invited onboard for a few drinks and snacks. We exchanged contact and I then emailed them photos of their boat

good one, Hoppy. Would that all dronists were as considerate!

Re: Boat Luxuries

Boy you are right, they are annoying. We had one buzzing around here the other day. I am afraid I'd be one of those who gets out the slingshot. I was thinking of only for shots of my own boat, or that distant pod of whales...

When we cruise past Corfu in July, you're drone can buzz us anytime. I look forward to the awesome pictures.
