My chameleon is a bit trashed as the kids rowed into flat island and brought all the cans, bottles and trash back to be recycled. The water tight compartment is neat. I stuff a cheap radio in it with a anchor in case they need to call back to Sabray or decide to anchor. Not much to do to get this from a plan to a boat.

Re: Best Sailing Dingy Build Kit?

Kit and finished boat side by side. Note the finger joints. This simplifies construction. This design is much lighter and more modern than older designs.

Full kits start at $1940. This is a steal.

Dinghy in a box. The kit includes precut glass, resin, and just about everything else you need.

Re: Best Sailing Dingy Build Kit?

No affiliation, just was considering building one and checked them out carefully. I came away quite impressed.

Re: Best Sailing Dingy Build Kit?

No finger joints in a chameleon[emoji16] capacity is much more then a pointy dink. That's why the blow up guys are all flat and not pointy. You can't Row the blow ups. Or sail or skull these donkey blow up dinks.. Chameleon gives you capacity with efficient design.
You can row sail skull or motor .5 adults okay with a chameleon. Stored in 5'4" on deck. Bolts up in the water. Unsinkable. Let's have a race. Nice looking rig and design. Danny Greene really worked out the design compromises. In my opinion brilliant. You need a saw a drill a batten a hammer and glue.
