Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

I've only got a couple of days left before I return to the BVI and Zanshin and I put together a video and pictures taken on and around the island of Jost van Dyke in the BVI. Some the video clips are from the north shore and the "Bubbly Pool"; but I was there in a heavy north swell and the pool was quite a bit more than merely bubbly.

Really nice video Zanshin. Thanks for sharing it. I seldom miss the Caribbean but for about 5 minutes you made me do so.

Re: Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

Palarran - thanks I'm working on putting together a St. Barths one right, with some good diving at Île Fourchue and other clips including a picture of Palarran outside Gustavia I'll post the link here when I'm done. That'll be my last video for a bit, since I'm out of movie raw material and my demo license for Adobe Premiere runs out tomorrow as well.

Re: Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

Mark - I'm volunteering at the Heineken again, so I'll get there beforehand and of course we'll meet up for some beverage, perhaps another trip to the Moroccan restaurant in Marigot as well (Bernd and Carmen are working in Germany to stock up the cruising kitty right now, they'll be back next season).
I just bought the last Highfield dinghy at IWW - the one display model outside, hopefully in the shade. So I really have to get back to SXM soon.

I am slated to be the skipper of Start Boat B so if try for that I'll email you.

The display dinks are all in the shade, under cover.

Re: Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

I had hoped to get that job this time around, it is kinda like driving a tank... So, if I'm on "B" again it will be as a swabbie that you get to command around... I'm still waiting on Leo to respond, But I bet that you are happy to not be driving a taxi this year

Re: Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

Ridiculous to suggest I would strut my command! However I am researching Capt Bligh and he has some valuable techniques

With you on board we will have great fun

Re: Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

Is being keelhauled on a catamaran preferable to beingkeehauled on a monohull? While I tend to prefer empirical over anecdotal results, I think I'll pass this time around. As skipper you will have to stay dry until we are finished and sometimes rations get low on the long trip back.
But I will try to get a video of the committee boat and crew in action and will need your directorial help.

Re: Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

I can confirm, from experience, that the start boats are well stocked with coold beverages. We usually run out of alcoholic sponsors product in the final phases of anchoring and the skipper, god bless his soul, is the only one to go dry...

Re: Video of Jost van Dyke, BVI

The Captain's prerogative might let you get away with consuming some of the medicinal alcohol aboard...
