Importing Parts to the Med

Hi, can any one suggest a country bordering the med to import parts to from the US. Need to avoid VAT and have reliability of delivery. Probably surface shipping. Parts to the value of 3,000 USD. Currently in Portugal

Re: importing parts to the med

It's the other end of the Med but what about Israel?

On the other hand, as a non EU citizen can't you get parts shipped to a yacht in transit and avoid duty and VAT?

Also, what would it cost you to take the boat to a country just to pick up parts? For a $3000 shipment VAT would be $500-$600 which is probably a lot less than it would cost to move the boat outside the EU, clear customs, pay fees, etc

Check out Gibraltar. They are not part of the EU and might / should be favourable to maritime goods in transit. Plus they speak English!
