How do we prepare our boat for 50 kt winds?

Never been there so don't know area. But any chance you have time to just get the hell outa Dodge and go someplace it ain't? marinas can be tough depending on how protected they are. Lots of people do nothing whatsoever to prepare. And the docks and pilings can fail, too, if things get bad enough. In which case, doesn't matter what you did or they didn't.

ok bad news. patricia was 875 mb at enter. this one is 850.
this one is where odile did her rapid intensification.
not only will this be a cane on landfall, it will be a strong large cane on landfall. this needs to go more west for all of us to find comfort, but the hot water it needs is exactly where it is and up the sea of cortez.
there are ridges and highs directing this one to where it is and to mainland for landfall at topo.
i donot trust storms intensifying at cabo corrientes.

The enclosed basin that houses Marina San Carlos is THE best hurricane hole in that region.

oh well. All I can say is minimize windage and lines! Lines, lines, lines, lines, LINES!
Preferably as long as possible to as many pilings as possible from as many angles as possible. Longer lines are less susceptible to being stretched tight by rising storm surge. And they have more stretchy shock absorbing ability.
And consider moving to the best and biggest slip available. Though this can be crap shoot. A jog of a few miles one way or another can make it a whole different experience.

Recommend that you make up several sacrificial lines for securing other boats in the marina as they break loose. Strip your headsails off the furlers.

Yep. Will do. I already got the "before" pictures. LOL I'll try to get some video as well, if it's semi-safe to venture out. Or maybe just looking out the side light.
When I get the video all put together, I'll throw it up on YouTube with our other ones.

I'm interested to know the actual wind speed this thing produces. And how far the water comes up.

The lights, wifi, and cell services seem to go out more frequently here than in Marina Cortez or Marina Puertos Los Cabos. Should be interesting!
