Might have a technical winner there.

GILow,

Good call, although I'll up you one, at least theoretically.

They could have said, "Click here and I'll tell you, but then I'd have to kill you."

Re: Post the Worst "For Sale" Picture You've Seen.

The only reason that I can think of that justifies the photos, is that the spouse has demanded that the boat be sold or else!

Given that ultimatum I would post blurry, far away, non appealing photos as well.

Another solid reason for the blurry pictures.

I usually like a picture of the layout, but when this is the only picture!

Yup. Really important to remember that almost half of the entire population has a two digit IQ. Easy to forget when you mostly hang around with, for example, people who are bright enough to afford and operate a sailboat. Very much not a random cross section of humanity.

Re: Post the Worst "For Sale" Picture You've Seen.

I don't have any pic but when I sold my C&C 34 it was the last boat of the day for this couple. It was -20C. The lady was amazed.. I had brought back some cushions had heat on ... Boat was nice.

Apparently the previous boat was another C&C 34 and they said it stunk. If it stinks at -20C it must be a real treat at +20C.

They bought my boat.

Okay, I gotta post this one. I came across this on CL... $4999!

I love how he says "TRAILER ALONE WORTH $3000" ... I am looking for a boat, not a trailer.

But it's true, the trailer is often worth a lot more than the boat, and many people cannot buy a boat without having the trailer.

If you want the boat, buy the package and selling the trailer.

No thanks to either. Lol. I can’t see anything in that photo that i’d pay $3k for.

Re: Post the Worst "For Sale" Picture You've Seen.

Interesting thread. After a few years, I have seen some strange and scary things on boats. But of all of them, this one rates the scariest. It wasn't published, but it is very pertinent to the topic.

I found this shunt on the bow thruster on a 50' sailboat for sale. Can you imagine?

I'm sure the thought process went something like, "Damn that bow thruster! There goes another fuse! I know! Let's just jump the g/d fuse!"

That fuse protects a giant magnet motor on an 8" bow thruster from overheating and burning up, and it is mounted below the waterline, surrounded by a fiberglass hull.

I'm guessing that little POS chinese wire would go before anything important would burn.

It does look like a lower amp rated "fuse" to me too.
