I wonder if you are using the low res background or the high res background? Chart Sources | Official OpenCPN Homepage
High res helps a great deal when routing near land.

The computer should not fail, it should just say "failure" after the run and you can try to run it again with some slight adjustments.

Is this repeatable? Perhaps you can show a screenshot or tell us where?
Also what grib file?

By the way, Sean is working on improvements to the plugin as we speak, so there is probably a better version coming out with better support for language files and some improvements.

Also it seems to me that with QtVlm you could run tests with the grib moved forward or backward by X hours which sometimes was useful to determine which side was best. Is that correct?

Yes it was possible to choose the date and hours for the start.

I notice that Gerhard has provided a detailed description of how to use getfiles. Gerhard is that what Hakan has already done to make the potfile.in? or is that something done afterwards? Thank you!
You don't need a new POTFILE.in file for a plugin project when the names and numbers of source files of the project have not changed. The POTFILE.in file is simply an ASCII text file of all the source file names of the project. Open this file with a text editor like Notepad and you will see.

Re: Weather Routing

To "Build only" POT.

1. Open Visual Studio 2013
2. Open weather_routing_pi.sln located in the build directory of weather_routing_pi local git directory.
3. Find in Solution Explorer "weather_routing-pot-update" and expand it there should be cmake rules, etc.
4. Right click on "weather_routing-pot-update" and select the third down "Project only", then select "Build Only "weather_routing-pot-update".
5. Output window shows Build: 1 Succeeded 0 Failed
====
Did the same with "weather_routing-po-update" which builds only the po files.

Now what? Hakan needs a file I believe. weather_routing_pi.pot (take off the pdf) (Hope I did this right)

Thank you for the help. I could not resist and did open potfile with text editor, I do that often, can't resist because I learn stuff.

So, does getfiles help us make potfile.in?

Re: Weather Routing

JP yes sometimes this happens because the detect land routine is picky and the choice is accuracy or faster & optimized. It is hard to have both. Is this using high res background gshhs?

Hakan, Thank you so much. and Gerhard as well.
I have created a brief Plugins Language page under Internationalization.

Please feel free to edit it or to suggest corrections in this thread.

Re: Weather Routing

I'm not sure that it is wise to put the procedure to make a pot-file in the internationalisation part of the OpenCPN web site. Initially, the information in this part of the web site was prepared for translators only. Pot-files were prepared by the developer and later also by the owner and manager(s) of CrowdIn.

Do we really want that anyone can change the pot-files?
